Connect & Collaborate at the Annual Conference

IGEQ members enjoy exclusive access to our Annual Conference, a unique opportunity to connect with professional equestrian educators from across member countries. Participants engage in practical standard-setting sessions, attend informative workshops, and join lively discussions that shape the future of equestrian education.

Passport Issuance Authority

IGEQ members have the authority to issue Passports to individuals holding eligible qualifications for various disciplines, including: Riding (All Round), Driving, Vaulting, Tourism, Western, Discipline Competition Coach (Show Jumping, Dressage & Eventing). Therapeutic instructors must possess a Level 1 Riding (All Round) Passport.

Expert Guidance for Qualification Development

Members receive tailored support from IGEQ experts to develop or enhance robust qualification and examination systems, ensuring excellence in equestrian education.

Equestrian Qualification Mapping & Minimum Standards

Benefit from IGEQ’s extensive work in comparing and mapping equestrian qualifications. IGEQ sets minimum requirements and guidelines at three international levels, covering disciplines such as Riding (All Round), Driving, Vaulting, Western, Tourism, and more.

Recognition of Qualifications Across Borders

IGEQ membership ensures your qualifications are recognized internationally. Members can have their existing qualifications evaluated against agreed minimum standards at three levels. Once formally recognized, these qualifications are eligible for the prestigious IGEQ Passport, accepted by all member countries (subject to national legal requirements).

Knowledge Sharing & Learning Opportunities

By joining IGEQ, members gain access to a global network of senior industry professionals and fellow members. This network offers valuable guidance, practical help, and knowledge exchange. Members are also invited to visit established national equestrian education centers and colleges to broaden their expertise.

Maintaining & Elevating Standards

IGEQ helps members maintain and elevate educational standards through Observer visits (part-funded by IGEQ) to review and enhance systems. Additionally, members can participate in bi-annual Examiner Training seminars held in conjunction with the IGEQ Conference.

Membership Application Form

If your Organisation wishes to join IGEQ you must complete and return a membership application form. Note membership is only open to organisations that offer, or wish to offer in the future, equestrian qualifications that meet the relevant IGEQ matrix.  Membership is not open to individual members. You can download the PDF form or complete the digital form on this page.

NOTE: Only National Equestrian Federations, Governing Bodies, or organisations authorised by Government to deliver equestrian qualifications may join but it is not necessary to have qualifications in place (not open to individual members).

Applications will be accepted in principle and confirmed following members agreement at the following Annual Conference. By submitting this form Consent is given that details on this form will be published on the IGEQ website.

Membership fee 2024: £310 or £155 sterling per year (depending on size of organisation). Invoice will be sent when membership confirmed.
